NAMPA -- Another Nampa church was burglarized overnight. That makes eight church burglaries in three days.
But it looks like police may have a break in the case.
Ronald Reagan Elementary School in Nampa was burglarized late Sunday night or early Monday morning.
Police had been investigating but didn't believe it was related to the church burglaries until now. And while they have not had much evidence before -- surveillance video from the school may have captured their suspect in the act.
"We were able to obtain video of one individual at Ronald Reagan Elementary," said Nampa Police Lt. Brad Daniels.
The video shows at least one suspect walking through the school. It's the closest thing to a lead that police have and they're hoping it will help them find their suspect.
The school was hit Sunday night or Monday morning. During that time, a total of eight churches have been burglarized.
The most recent was last night at the LDS church at the intersection of Amity and Chicago.
It was a secluded window in a private area of the church that the suspect smashed with a rock and entered, and much like the other burglaries, he didn't get away with much.
"Our property crimes division has been working a special burglary detail for the past several weeks and we've actually arrested eight burglars in the last three weeks alone and here we are again with another crew," said Daniels.
Nampa Police say establishments with audible alarms have helped keep the burglars from actually getting inside.
"What we've been seeing is that churches that are alarmed, especially those that have the audible alarm, are having to fix a broken window because once the window is broken within a short period of time the alarm goes off and they leave the scene. Most churches that have an alarm system or some sort of delay on their alarm system are also being the victims of theft as well." said Daniels.
The suspect is a white male, 20-30 years of age, 5-foot-8, weighing 140-160 pounds, and was wearing a Columbia ski jacket with light trim, a black beanie, dark pants and black shoes.
At each building, the burglar gained entry by throwing rocks through windows and then kicked open locked interior doors to gain access to valuables.
Anyone with any information about these crimes is urged to call Nampa Police at 468-5680.
