LAKEWOOD, Wash. – Police say a man on a bike has recently been approaching women and throwing some kind of liquid in their faces.
There have been at least seven such attacks in the Fort Steilacoom area of Lakewood between Aug. 30 and Sept. 6.
Lakewood police say the suspect typically approaches the victims from behind on his bike and throws the unknown liquid into their faces using paper cups. In some cases, the man also pinches the womens' buttocks. In one case, he even followed a woman into her place of work and attacked her there.
The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male between 17 and 20-years old. He's about 5-feet, 6-inches to 5-feet, 7-inches tall. He wears dark clothing and a baseball hat. On a couple of occasions, he wore a red sweatshirt. One victim has described him as a transient.
In six of the attacks, the suspect was riding a black BMX-style bicycle with a water bottle cage.
