WENATCHEE, Wash. -- The state Department of Transportation says a portion of Highway 97A in the Wenatchee area will likely stay closed until Friday because of a mudslide.

Spokesman Jeff Adamson says a seven-mile stretch of the road between Rocky Reach Dam and Entiat is still being cleared.

Heavy rains on Wednesday pushed mud up to seven feet deep down a slope and onto the highway. There were no major injuries.
