SEATTLE - A man was found dead after a house fire in West Seattle on Monday.

When firefighters arrived at the home in the 9200 block of Delridge Ave. SW they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the back.

The property owner told firefighters that he thought the home was empty, but when they went inside they found a man dead in bed in the back of the home.

Firefighters rescued seven dogs - two adult males and a litter of five puppies. Four of the puppies didn't make it.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
