The City of Issaquah ordered logging in a planned community to cease until the permit can be reviewed.

Residents in the Talus neighborhood complained to the City that more trees were being cut than Talus managers originally requested. An Issaquah City spokeswoman said a count of trees slated for removal did exceed the 18 trees listed in the permit. A rough count shows about 38 trees are spray painted with an ‘X’ for removal.

Talus managers said there may be some confusion because they are also conducting some management of problem alder trees.

City workers are inspecting the permit and the site and are expected to rule on the future of the project this week.
