A home in Mukilteo is a complete loss after a fire Wednesday, which happened just before 10 a.m. in the 6000 block of 88th Street.

A parent and child were outside the house, saw smoke, and managed to get their dogs out before the house became fully engulfed.

No one was hurt in the fire.

It took 45 minutes for the firefighters to get water on the house, in part because windy roads made access to the house difficult for fire engines.

One neighbor tried to help with her garden hose, but was told to stay back by police.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
