MOUNTAIN HOME -- A young girl was killed when the van she was riding in rolled over on Intersate 84 near Mountain Home just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

The little girl and another boy were ejected from the van after it blew a tire and rolled on the westbound freeway. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene, while the little boy survived.

The names and ages of the children have not been released, and will not be until family has been notified.

It happened at milepost 114, just west of Glenns Ferry. Crews closed down the freeway for more than an hour while two medical helicopters landed at the scene to transport patients.

The family was from Boise and was traveling westbound. Police said the childrens' grandparents were driving the van. Details on other injuries were not available.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
