BELLINGHAM, Wash. - The fire at historic Whatcom Middle School will displace students and send them to three other schools in the Bellingham school district.

The Bellingham Herald reports that some will go to Bellingham High School, some will go to Fairhaven Middle School and others will be sent to Geneva Elementary School beginning Nov. 12. Each of the three grades at the school will stay together, just at different locations.

Eighth-graders will go to Bellingham high. Seventh-graders will be at Fairhaven and sixth-graders will go to the elementary school. Students in all three grades can expect to keep the same teachers for academic subjects, although there may be changes for elective classes.

Investigators are continuing to look for a cause into the fire at the 106-year-old building.
