Julia Wheeler survived a brutal attack that left her aunt and a friend dead.
“I'm only here by the grace of God I'm still alive,” she said.
Wheeler walked through her Tacoma home, to where her aunt, Denyse Marshall, and friend, AJ Geissler, were killed - the same event that nearly killed her.
“He said 'you know that little boyfriend of yours, AJ downstairs, I just killed him and you're next,'” said Wheeler. “That's when he proceeded to put his hands around my throat …while I was still on the bed.”
Wheeler's boyfriend, Aaron Livingston, is charged with two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder.
Just the sight of him caused an outbreak among family in a Pierce County courtroom.
Livingston is believed to have killed Geissler and Marshall sometime Friday in a jealous rage, just hours after he was released from jail for allegedly attacking Geissler one day before.
“How was this not enough to keep this main in jail,” said Wheeler.
“And I hope by the grace of God justice is served because this is so wrong,” she said.
Aaron Livingston could be seen mouthing "I'm sorry" as he left court on Tuesday.
According to court documents, Livingston was only facing misdemeanor charges when released from jail Friday. Had he been charged with felony assault, he still would have been able to post bail.
