E.T., the Pacific walrus at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, has recovered from a serious gastrointestinal illness.

For two weeks, E.T. was in guarded condition, was lethargic and refused to eat.

The 32-year-old walrus, who weighs 3,350 lbs., began eating late last week and went back on exhibit with females Joan and Basilla Monday afternoon.

He first arrived in 1982 after he was orphaned as a calf on Alaska's North Slope.
