SEATTLE -- Not enough parking in Seattle? Many drivers agree on that, but Wednesday’s focus was on bicycle parking.

A group of cyclists met with city leaders for a "Rackathon" in search of bike parking solutions.

In West Seattle at the Alaska Junction, the city is moving ahead with bike parking, which they call a “bike corral.” It won’t take up a parking space, but there is a push to get more bike parking on sidewalks and on city streets.

This year alone, Seattle Transportation has installed bike racks with 303 spaces, with a goal of 200 more. And now there’s a map of the 1000 bike spaces in downtown public garages, provided by Seattle Cycling Tours.

But, some drivers don’t want their spots taken by bikes.

And a bit of advice for you cyclists who can’t find a spot: The city says it's illegal to chain your bike to a tree or a fire hydrant. And it's best to avoid hitching up to private property.
