NAMPA -- A child has died and several more are injured after a dump truck and school bus crashed near Deer Flat and Happy Valley roads south of Nampa just before 8 a.m.
The crash killed one child, and caused multiple injuries to other students, according to Idaho State Police.
We're told two injured children were taken to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, and two more were taken to Saint Alphonsus in Nampa.
Officials at the Kuna School District have confirmed that the bus was headed to Crimson Point Elementary.
Jenni Anderson, communications coordinator for the Kuna School District, said the bus involved was bus number 11.
Police say about 10 children were on the bus at the time of the crash.
Sergeant John Burke with the Idaho State Police says the circumstances of the crash are still under investigation, but it appears the truck was headed northbound, while the bus was headed eastbound when both collided at the intersection. The bus sustained damage to its right rear while the truck was damaged from the front.
