A 5-year-old was critically injured after a car hit a tree overnight in Auburn. Investigators say the 21-year-old male driver and an 8-year-old girl have non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say the car was traveling 90 mph when it ran off the road around 2:30 a.m. and hit a tree on Auburn Way South, just east of the Muckleshoot Casino.

Emergency crews had to help free the man and boy after they were trapped in the car.  Authorities say the girl managed to get out without help.

Police are investigating to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
