BELLEVUE, Wa. -- Police are searching for a bold burglar who used his SUV to repeatedly ram into a Bellevue computer store to steal laptops and other electronics.

The burglary happened at the Computer Sonics store in the 200 block of Bellevue Way Northeast at around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The whole thing was caught on surveillance video.

The surveillance camera captured the suspect putting his vehicle in reverse and ramming into the store front.

He tried once, twice and on his the third attempt the glass finally shattered. Then the video shows  the suspect grabbing several laptops and other electronics from the store front.

The store front was shattered and broken glass everywhere.

The owner, Moni Chaudhry, Computer Sonics Vice President got a call late at night, and spent much of the night sweeping up the mess.

Now he's hoping someone will recognize the suspect.

"Bellevue's supposed to be a safe place. It never happened on this street," said Chaudhry.

Chaudhry says he's voiced concerns to the strip mall's management about the potential for break-ins.

"All our other stores we have bars (but not here) and thought this is going to happen," Chaudhry said. "That's why I mentioned to management we needed some security bars but they said the City of Bellevue doesn't allow that."

Computer Sonics is two blocks from the heart of downtown Bellevue.

Bellevue police describe the suspect truck as a dark-colored Isuzu Rodeo SUV with a spare wheel in the back that says Rodeo.

The suspect is described as a white man possibly 30 to 40 years-old with a bald head.

If you have any information you're asked to call Bellevue Police.
