LAS VEGAS - Players for Boise State and Utah mixed and mingled during a Sunday night event -- and according to reports, also got into a bit of a scuffle.
It happened during the Maaco Bowl Las Vegas welcome event Sunday night.
Deseret News reporter Dirk Facer reports the "mild skirmish" happened during the event at the Hard Rock Hotel.
Bowl official Mark Wallington tells KTVB it was more of a "chest pounding display" -- with a few players shoving and yelling in the back of the room.
Wallington says they have never had a similar incident in the 19 year history of the event, so it stood out to bowl executives.
Ute players left the event earlier than initially planned and headed back to the team hotel down the street.
Several events are planned throughout coming days where players will come into contact with one another, including a Monday night "buffet bowl" at the Freemont Street Experience.
Wallington says players will be more separated than they were at the Hard Rock activity, something that was planned before the scuffle.
