The victim and her friend, another ten-year-old girl, said they were playing outside when they noticed a suspicious man.

“It was scary...I had never experienced anything like that in my life,” said the victim.

The children told KREM 2 News that a man suddenly approached them. They said they tried to climb up a tree to get away and the man ripped one of them from the tree.

“She started screaming for help, I started following him without him knowing,” said the victim’s friend. “He tossed her into the car and started driving away.”

The girl said she was able to get out of the suspect’s SUV and run for help.

“I kicked the door open and fought him,” she said.

Police were called to the scene to investigate.

“My daughter came in and was bawling, she was upset,” said the mother of the victim’s friend. She almost lost her best friend.”

Both of the children’s mothers said they feared their little girls would be forever scarred by the situation. The victim’s mother said she was grateful the ordeal was not worse.

“Thank god she got out of the car...if she hadn't I don't know what would have happened,” she said.

Law enforcement said reports of attempted abductions are not uncommon. They said multiple cases surface every year, but many are not backed by evidence. They said this case appeared to be different.

The suspect vehicle was described as a dark green SUV. The suspect was described as a tan or Hispanic male in his late 30s to 40s.
