BEAVERTON, Ore. -- More than 9,000 customers lost power in Beaverton, Hillsboro and other Washington County locations Wednesday morning, according to Portland General Electric.
Several stoplights were out in the area. Traffic officials reminded drivers that dark stoplights should be treated like 4-way stops.
PGE spokeswoman Brianne Hyder said a squirrel got into a substation near Twin Oaks Drive and Cornell Road in Beaverton just after 6:30 a.m.
Small, unrelated outages were also reported at several other sites throughout the county.
