A wildfire that flared up near Ellensburg Thursday poses a threat to nearby homes.
The wildfire is located in Northeast Ellensburg's Parke Creek drainage area, according to the Washington's Department of Natural Resources.
It has burned about 500 acres.
Two homes in Parke Creek have been put on a Level 2 evacuation alert, meaning they should be ready to leave at any moment.
About 15 homes in the Secret Canyon area danger have been issued a Level 1 evacuation notice, meaning they have been put on alert for possible evacuation.
