PORTLAND -- It won't set any records, but it will be a dramatic jump in the temperature: The high in Portland should be 95 degrees Tuesday, KGW Meteorologist Nick Allard said.
"Things are really going to heat up," he said Monday morning. "With some east wind and sunny skies, temps will warm into the mid-90s."
The record high for July 1 at Portland International Airport was 107 degrees in 1965, and Tuesday won't be anywhere near that hot, Allard said. But it will be at least a 10-degree change from Monday afternoon.
The temperature Wednesday drops back down into the low to mid-80s for the remainder of the week and into Independence Day weekend.
