PORTLAND – The public memorial for a K-9 killed in the line of duty on will be held at Hillsboro Stadium on May 12 at 10:30 a.m.

Mick, a 2-year-old German Shepherd, died from a single bullet wound after he and his human partner, Officer Jeff Dorn, were tracking down a robbery suspect on April 16.

Dorn, who was injured in the shooting, later credited Mick for saving his life.

All are welcome at Mick’s memorial. Hillsboro Stadium is located at 4450 NW 229th Ave., near the MAX Blue Line NW 229th and Evergreen Parkway stop.
