PORTLAND – The man suspected of shooting an officer and killing a K-9 Wednesday after a crime spree has been taken to jail.

Paul Alan Ropp, 20, was one of the three suspects tied to an early Wednesday morning burglary, chase and shootout. He was the suspected gunman who shot an officer and killed K-9 ‘Mick’ with an assault-style rifle.

Ropp was injured in the incident and taken to the hospital.

On Saturday, he was released from the hospital and booked in the Multnomah County Jail.

Ropp was booked on charges including attempted aggravated murder, assault of a law enforcement animal, animal abuse, possession of an explosive device, burglary and unlawful use of a weapon.

The other two men involved in the robbery, 20-year-old Steven Young and 25-year-old Jemaell Riley, have already been arrested and booked on kidnapping and robbery charges.
