PORTLAND -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation is asking for the public's help in identifying a man suspected of sexually abusing a child.
The FBI released images of the man Monday described simply as John Doe 28.
The suspect appears to be a white male in his 30s or 40s with wire-framed glasses, according to FBI spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele.
The images of the man come from a video that Steele said depicted the suspect "engaging in sexually explicit activities with a child."
The FBI did not know the location where the images were recorded and they could be from any state or region, Steele said.
"The video depicts the subject and the victim inside a residence with what appears to be a blue sofa chair and a picture hanging on a wall in the background," Steele said. "Additionally, the subject is wearing wire-framed glasses and a burgundy T-shirt with what appears to be a shark logo on his left side."
Last November, the FBI found a man suspected of abusing a child based on similar scant details. In that case, the FBI released images of the man's face, his ring and a checkered chair and the supect was found a few days later.
Anyone with information on of John Doe 28 was asked to go to the FBI tip website or call 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324).
