RIDGEFIELD, Wash. -- Police locked down a rest stop on Interstate 5 outside Ridgefield, Wash. Thursday afternoon as they searched the area for a dangerous fugitive.

Washington State Troopers and Clark County Deputies closed the rest stop to look for Derral Kenneth Mosby, 36 of Mossy Rock, Wash. Mosby was wanted for multiple felony warrants on robbery and drug possession charges, according to troopers.

Detectives in Lewis County described Mosby as 6-foot-8.

Mosby often carries a knife and gun and should be considered highly dangerous, according to detectives.

Around 3:30 p.m., troopers received a phone call from Mosby’s father, a Vancouver resident. He said his son had just called him and was at a southbound rest area on I-5 with a gunshot wound in his leg, police said.

Police continued to search the area at 5 p.m. Thursday.
