VANCOUVER -- At least two people were hurt in a shooting at a government facility in Clark County late Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The shooting happened in building #17 at the Clark County Center for Community Health, just before 4 p.m., according to Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp. The building is located in the 1600 block of East Fourth Plain Boulevard in Vancouver.
The suspect was caught by security guards and then taken into custody by deputies, said Sgt. Fred Nieman with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. He said no one else is in danger.
Two people were transported from the scene to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, according to American Medical Response. One of the victims had a gunshot wound, according to Nieman, but there were no other details released about the injuries.
Authorities have not yet released names of anyone involved in the shooting.
This was the second shooting in two days within just a couple miles in the Vancouver area. On Monday, a worker at the Benjamin Moore paint distribution center allegedly shot his boss and then himself.
Both people died in that shooting and the circumstances remain under investigation.
