GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. -- After dismal ski reports over the holidays, snow is on its way back to Mt. Hood, according to KGW Chief Meteorologist Matt Zaffino.
The forecast is calling for three to six inches of snow Tuesday and Wednesday, and then an even bigger dump on Thursday and Friday. Zaffino was predicting that Mt. Hood will get anywhere from 22 inches to 44 inches of fresh snow by the weekend.
"This is exactly what we needed to see happen," he said. "We haven't had a week like this since last winter."
He added that the best days to hit the slopes will likely be Thursday and Sunday.
