PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- A candlelight vigil is planned at Clackamas Town Center on Dec. 11, the anniversary of the day when a 22-year-old man fatally shot two people, wounded a third and then killed himself.
The observance next Wednesday will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Organizers said the public is welcome.
The program under the theme "Remembrance and Resolve" will include talks by family members of the victims and clergy members, a musical performance and a moment of silence for the victims.
Two people were killed among the holiday crowd estimated at 10,000: Steve Forsyth and Cindy Yuille. A third, Kristina Shevchenko, was seriously wounded but survived and was released from the hospital.
Authorities said Jacob Tyler Roberts used a stolen semi-automatic AR-15 rifle and then killed himself after the shootings.
