BOISE -- A strong fall storm will bring heay amounts of rain and snow to parts of south, central, and eastern Idaho on Thursday, according to forecasters.
The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for the Big and Little Wood River Region, South Central Highlands, and Eastern Magic Valley.
Forecasters are calling for rain below 5,500 feet, with 4 to 9 inches of snow possible above that elevation. Gusty winds are expected to cause blowing and drifting snow in higher areas.
Snow could accumulate in lower-elevation areas toward the end of the storm, according to the weather service.
