SPOKANE, Wash. -- Eighty-five local veterans returned home Wednesday after a whirlwind trip to Washington DC.
The World War II veterans were taken via Honor Flight to see the memorials built in their honor. The group stopped at all of the major memorials in DC during their two-day trip.
"I'm absolutely astounded,” said returning veteran Jack McCaw. “What a wonderful, marvelous deal."
A large crowd gathered in the Spokane Airport baggage claim Wednesday evening to welcome home the heroes from the Inland Northwest.
