SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane Police said an officer’s gun was taken by a suspect for a short time after an altercation.

Authorities said the officer was pursuing Samuel Banks, 25, then an altercation occurred. Police said that is when Banks took the officer’s gun. The gun has since been located.

Police are searching for Banks around the area of Central Avenue and Division. It is unclear right now if Banks is still armed but officials say he is dangerous.

Authorities issued a warrant for Banks' arrest on September 12 for failure to report to his supervisor. Banks is currently under supervision for 1st degree burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
