ATLANTA -- The smoke still lingers dangerously close to Atlanta on Friday.
The fear remains that the nearly 13,000-acre blaze will crest the ridge and burn into the town.
Officials tell us the Little Queens Fire is still about three miles from the town.
Ric Holmes lives in the small town and says this is the worst he's seen it. "People are taking this one more seriously than at any other time."
The fire is still zero percent contained as the mandatory evacuations remain in effect.
Many residents are still there, refusing to leave until they absolutely have to.
Unfortunately, Atlanta did not see the rain that other areas experienced on Thursday.
