BOISE -- Some good news may be around the corner for Boise State fans.
Boise's Chief of Police Michael Masterson made a new tailgating proposal to the Boise City Council and Boise Mayor Dave Bieter on Tuesday.
They're calling it the "Ten to Ten Zone Tailgating District."
It would allow alcohol in plastic cups during tailgates from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on home game days, and it would be limited to a certain area.
Chief Masterson says officers who patrol tailgating areas on game day brought the idea to him.
"For the most part, this is going to give us time to look for other safety and behavioral issues, and not focus just exclusively on if someone has an open container of alcohol," said Masterson.
The recommendation would expire after the 2013 football season when Masterson will report back to the mayor and council and let them know how it went.
There was no vote taken on Tuesday.
