VANCOUVER -- Interstate 5 will closed from SR 500 to the south to I-205 to the north for the entire weekend, transportation officials said.
The closure will allow girders to be put in place for a new overpass, said Heidi Sause of the Washington State Department of Transportation. That closure will last from 11 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
The southbound lanes of I-5 will be closed between Interstate 205 and Northeast 134th Street. The northbound lanes will be closed between State Route 500 and I-205 (detour map below).
Sause said drivers should expect delays in the area and take alternate routes.
The overpass is scheduled to be complete by 2014. Click for project details
