Washington State Patrol detectives are looking for a second semi truck that passed an oversized load as a section of Interstate 5 collapsed over the Skagit River. The section of the bridge fell into the river between Burlington and Mount Vernon on May 23rd.

In a tweet, Trooper Mark Francis said the unknown-colored semi was pulling a white trailer while it drove in the left lane.

Detectives would like to hear this driver's perspective of the event. Francis added that the oversized load may have struck the top of the second semi, in addition to striking the bridge truss.

The Washington State Department of Transportation will host a community meeting in Burlington, Wash. to discuss progress on the bridge and next steps in keeping traffic moving. The meeting will be Thursday, June 6 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

WSDOT plans to open the temporary bridge structure this month.

The driver of the second semi is asked to call WSP detectives.
