Seattle will have a 4th of July fireworks show at Lake Union this year after all.
The city announced Tuesday that Amazon.com, Microsoft, Starbucks, DoubleDown Interactive and local restauranter Tom Douglas are among those partnering on the venture.
The package was put together by Seafair and the Seattle Chamber of Commerce. Some of the sponsors have committed for at least three years. Seafair will produce the show, which will be part of the larger Seafair festival.
The Chamber said it is still seeking donations to help cover the cost.
One Reel, which used to produce the Family 4th at Lake Union, announced April 1 that it had not received enough donations to move forward with this year’s show. That sent city leaders into a scramble to come up with a back-up plan.
