Boeing has filed a flight plan to conduct the final certification test for the new 787 battery system.
The purpose of the test flight in the Dreamliner is to demonstrate that the new system performs as expected.
The LOT 86 plane will take off and land at Paine Field in Everett. It's scheduled to depart at 11:00 a.m. and last approximately two hours.
Airlines have 50 of these planes, but they're still grounded after two batteries overheated. Boeing is trying to assure regulators that some design changes have made the batteries are safe.
The flight plan is subject to change but can be viewed on FlightAware.
