One person is dead and another is in critical condition Friday after a Maple Valley property owner called 911 to report he was being robbed, then said he shot two people.

King County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. Cindi West said it happened around 4 a.m. 23200 block of 212th Avenue SE.

West said a 66-year-old property owner called 911 to say he was being robbed and someone was in a container on his property. The line then went dead.

The man called 911 back and said he had shot two intruders on his property.

West said a male is dead and a female was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

The property owner has called the sheriff’s office roughly five times in the past few weeks, but West could not elaborate on what those calls were about.
