NAMPA -- A K-9 who works for the Nampa Police Department has gone missing.

Police say the missing dog goes by the name of Augie and escaped from the officer's house last night.

Augie was last seen in the area of Can-Ada and Ustick roads around 9 p.m.

Augie is a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois, which looks similar to a German Shepherd. He weighs 45 to 50 pounds and has a tattoo bar code located in his left ear.

Augie's is social towards people and not aggressive towards other animals.

Anyone seeing this dog is urged to call the Nampa Police Department at 465-2257.
