VANCOUVER -- A Vancouver man was arrested Tuesday, after a suspected prowler was shot and killed early Tuesday morning, police said.
After spending the day collecting evidence and interviewing neighbors, police said they arrested Sean Doucette, 27, on second-degree murder charges.
The incident began around 4 a.m., when dispatchers said they got a 911 call about a prowler near Northeast 33rd Street and 148th Place.
"Minutes later, another call came into dispatch reporting that the prowler had been shot," said Kim Kapp with the Vancouver Police Department.
Officers arrived to find the suspect dead in the street.
"I couldn’t sleep and it was four in the morning... I heard 'pop, pop, pop, pop!' - Four shots, just really quick, one after another,” neighbor Jason Crevar said.
Another neighbor told KGW he heard something that sounded like a knock on his door and looked around, but saw no one. A short time later, police rushed into the area, he said.
