THE DALLES -- Police issued an Amber Alert Wednesday morning for a boy reportedly taken from his home in The Dalles, according to Oregon State Police.
The child was identified as Skylar Meldin Coulcer-Jarding, 5. He is 3 foot 6, 45 to 50 pounds with sandy brown hair. He wears glasses and is cross-eyed and he has a speech impediment.
The suspect went into the home with a hammer. He knows the mother and hit her with the hammer.
He left the scene in a blue-green 1998 Chevy Cavalier Oregon license 229BUK similar to the one pictured. It has a dolphin sticker on the rear.
Brian Lester Depriest, 36, of The Dalles, is 6 foot 5 and 200 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans.
