PORTLAND -- TriMet was investigating after a bus driver was caught on camera running two stop signs at the Gresham Transit Center Saturday afternoon.
Lane Jensen with Portland Transit Lane said he was filming footage of the area to post on his blog. He added that he thought he might see a driver turning right while exiting the transit center, even though a "no right turn" sign is posted.
He didn't know he would catch a driver running the stop sign completely. He said he definitely didn't expect to see the same driver run another stop sign less than a block away.
TriMet spokeswoman Mary Fetsch released a statement Monday, saying an investigation was under way.
"We have been alerted to a serious safety violation where a bus operator was recorded running two stop signs," she said. "We have alerted the operator’s manager to begin investigating and will take appropriate action."
