VANCOUVER – Four Vancouver schools were placed in lockdown Wednesday morning after a rifle was found inside an Evergreen High School classroom, police said.

The school was placed in lockdown during the investigation and a SWAT team was headed to the school, according to Kim Kapp of the Vancouver Police Department.

Nearby Burton Elementary School, Cascade Middle School and Legacy High School were also placed in lockdown, said Carol Fenstermacher of the Evergreen School District.

A notice on the Evergreen Public Schools website announced that all students were safe and Vancouver police were on site. Click here for more.
