Two Seattle Police detectives were injured Friday morning in a car crash with a suspected DUI driver.

The detectives were coming off the Alaskan Way Viaduct at Seneca Street after 2 a.m. Police said a car headed north on 1st Avenue drove through a red light and t-boned the patrol car.

Both officers were put in neck braces and taken to Harborview Medical Center.

"They were a little shaken, but they were able to call in the collision themselves," said Seattle Police Det. Mark Jamieson.

The woman driving the car that hit them was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. She was not injured in the crash.

The detectives were in an unmarked car.

Police hope to reopen the 1st Avenue and Seneca Street intersection before the morning commute.
