Alaska Airlines customers trying to fly out of Seattle and Portland on Monday morning report long delays due to problems with the airline's computerized check-in system.
"I understand they are looking into something at this time. Hopefully it doesn’t last long. It is not Sea-Tac wide," a Port of Seattle spokesman said.
One person trying to travel from Seatac Airport Tweeted, "Alaska Air's computers are down at SEA. No one can get on planes. Looks like we'll be late... "
A passenger trying to fly out of Portland Tweeted: "#alaskaair down in #pdx too, longest line I've seen in awhile. :(. Everyone just standing, waiting."
KING 5 News has left messages with Alaska Airlines requesting more information. A message at the top of the airline's website says only that a "required database maintenance" could restrict access to customers' Mileage Plan information.
Stay tuned for updates.
