PORTLAND – Temperatures could soar to a record-high 102 degrees on Thursday, said KGW meteorologist Rod Hill.
Wednesday's high should reach about 96, he said. Friday was expected to hit triple digits, and the weekend will return to the 80s.

A fire weather watch was issued for the Portland area, effective from Wednesday morning through Friday evening. The National Weather Service also announced an excessive heat warning would be in effect from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday.
