BOISE -- A gas leak at a construction site at the corner of Myrtle Street and Broadway Avenue has led to the closure of several nearby streets.

Ada County dispatchers tell us that Boise firefighters and a crew from the gas company are on scene and are working to turn off the gas and keep the area safe.

The Ada County Highway District sent out a traffic alert stating that Broadway Avenue from Park Boulevard to Front Street was closed just before 10:50 a.m.  All lanes of Broadway are blocked in both directions and police are directing traffic in the area.

Also, Myrtle Street is blocked from 3rd Street to Park Boulevard.

That intersection is where construction crews are building a Whole Foods grocery store and a Walgreens.

NewsChannel 7 has a crew at the scene and is working to gather more information.  Check back soon for an update.
