Deschutes Brewery's Red Chair pale ale has been judged one of the five best beers in the world at the just completed World Beer Awards 2010.
The event was sponsored by the online beer magazine tastingbeers.com. Other Northwest breweries also had notable finishes.
The competition involved blind-tasting of over 500 beers from 27 countries with a panel of judges from several continents. It also leads to the publication of a book self-promoted by the online magazine.
Individual category winners in World's Best division for Deschutes included its Mirror Mirror, Hope Henge, Inversion and Mirror Pond bottlings.
Rogue Ales also brought home a World's Best category winner with its Juniper Pale Ale and Mocha Porter.
