A big orange cat seemed to enjoy the excitement when officers arrived at his home to investigate a burglary.
Portland Police say on Monday, officers responded to a residence on the report of a burglary.
The victim told officers she’d just returned home from work and found her house burglarized.
Not sure if someone was still in the home, officers entered to check for a suspect. While searching the home, Officer Sarah Kerwin noted broken glass on the floor of both the basement and a bathroom.
The victim's cat - whose name was not disclosed - was walking around on the floor so Kerwin picked up the cat to make sure it didn’t step in the glass.
The cat climbed up onto Kerwin’s shoulders and happily remained there as Kerwin finished searching the house.
No suspects were found but several items were discovered missing after the burglary.
