A trooper with the Washington State Patrol helped rescue a large snake left on the side of SR-14 in Vancouver on Friday morning.
The incident started when a passing tow truck driver noticed a large aquarium in a grassy area along the side of SR-14 near Lieser Road. The tow truck driver stopped and discovered a large snake lying outside of the aquarium.
Trooper Jesse Layman responded and was able to corral the snake back into the aquarium, the State Patrol says. The snake, which was approximately 5 feet long, didn't appear to be hurt and was taken from the scene by Clark County Animal Control.
It's not known if the snake fell from a moving vehicle or was intentionally left along the highway.
