Procter & Gamble is recalling some Iams and Eukanuba dry pet foods because of concerns about Salmonella contamination.

The company says to date no health effects have been reported.

The affected lots were distributed in the United States and represent roughly one-tenth of one percent (0.1%) of annual production, the company said.

CHECK THE LIST OF PRODUCTS

The company says retailers have been notified of the affected products and are working to remove them.

Salmonella can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products.

If you purchased a product in the recall, discard it and contact P&G toll-free at 800-208-0172 (Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST), or via website at www.iams.com or www.eukanuba.com.
