NORTH BEND, Wash. -- The roommate of a Good Samaritan who died this summer is trying to save one of his best friend's possessions.
Ronald Reinhardt died trying to help a couple stranded on the side of Highway 18. Now Reinhardt's roommate, Randy Fleming, is packing up and moving to a new home.
"It's a difficult situation," said Fleming.
Difficult because Fleming must make some tough decisions on what to take and what to leave behind. Particularly a beautiful lab-Shepard mix named Roxie.
"Believe me, it's a toss up between her or me," said Fleming. "You know, I just can't take her, it's just that the place that I'm going doesn't allow it."
Roxie was Reinhardt's dog. Now Fleming must make a decision on what to do with Roxie, and it's not his first decision to take her to a shelter.
"I'll do anything and everything but that," said Fleming. "I'll pay for her fostering, it doesn't matter I just want to make sure she gets a good home, she's been through too much trauma."
He just wants someone who will love her.
"I just want a good home for her, good family to take good care of her," he said.
Roxie is estimated to be between 8 and 10 years old. Fleming said she's great with children and families.
A Facebook page campaign has been set up to help in finding Roxie a home. For more information visit https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=201493759916318
